Wonderful, French, early 19th century, framed oil on canvas allegorical painting.


On horseback, Death is depicted in the form of a skeleton holding an arrow and hourglass. He sits behind a smiling gentleman bearing a bottle of wine. 


They ride over a grave where we see a skull and bones.
