Very rare zinc Red Riding Hood and The Wolf.


This was once used in a fairground where coins or small tokens were put in the slots (there is one in her basket and one in the chest of the wolf) which would have triggered a mechanism in the interior. 


 


While in its distressed state, it is still a wonderfully decorative piece that is evocative of the days when villages would wait in great anticipation of the arrivaal of the fair. 


 


In this case, the condition becomes secondary to its charm and rarity.
