Framed painting of a red haired female figure reclining, head turned and regarding her image in a mirror. Signed to the lower left the French female artist, Roberte Chevalier.
Inscribed 'Interrogation Au Mirror' Roberte Chevalier , Paris, by the artist to the rear of the chassis.
Oil on canvas. It has wonderful atmosphere in its unrestored but generally fair condition.
About the Artist: Roberte Jeanne Chevalier (1907-2000) French school of the 20th century.
Roberte Jeanne Chevalier was a French painter born in 1907. She was a student of Laguillermie and Lucien Simon. She exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français.
She was one of the rare female painters of this era and studied in Paris in 1925 at the Beaux-Arts. Her style was Neo-Impressionism.
