https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/antiques-decorativeA turn of the century c1900 circular carved wood jardiniere stand on original castors. A good country house piece, that would have likely supported a very large ceramic vase to keep it off the ground to avoid being damaged by peoples feet and other things that may knock into it. Being on an moveable base would have made cleaning easier and if it needed to be re-positioned, it would have been much safer and less hard work to do it this way.
A particularly lovely feature is the deeply carved egg and dart decoration around the rim with a circle of beading above. The pictures show the underside and the original brass castors. The whole in very good condition and colour, having been recently lightly waxed to feed the wood. The white marble insert is later, but effective and well cut to suit.
It is also useful as a base for a floor lamp as can be seen in the final photo. The pearlescent blue glass lamp is available separately here.
