Charming circa 1900 decoy duck, of very good size, beautifully painted and with original eyes. Aesthetically pleasing, it has been skillfully and lovingly carved, with particular understated attention to the beak and face - the body and head lines flowing beautifully. There has been a small repair just below the neck area as can be seen in picture 12, but this does not detract and is not immediately obvious. Otherwise in very good condition and has clearly been well looked after. Will make for a wonderful ornament with it's mellow and warm patina.
