A snippit of something bigger and more exquisite, but this is still a lovely picture with real appeal.


A small oil on board copy of the corner of Piero della Francesca's The Baptism of Christ, but of course not the real thing, that is in The National Gallery, London.


Maybe this copy was part of something bigger too, as it has been cut away as you can see by the edges, just to show the 3 Angels who lore says ministered to Christ on some of the most crucial moments in his life, stand watching his baptism.


The original was painted in the 1400's, while this could be anything from the 1930's to the 1950's, check out the mid century hair styles.
