Item Details

Charles Dicken’s Arts and Crafts Copper Box. A most unusual piece.  Obviously a homage to some of Charles Dickens most famous characters.   Each of the main characters is depicted in a detailed silver plated portrait around the sides of the box.  From Oliver Twist – Mr Bumble, Fagin and Bill Sikes.  From Martin Chuzzlewit – Mrs Gamp and Pecksniff and Sam Weller from Pickwick Papers.  The portraits show registered numbers but we have no information about the maker.


The box is beautifully constructed from hammered copper and brass and has a wooden base inside for added strength.  Sitting on raised brass feet.


Size – 31cm x 17cm x 17cm Weighs 2.5kg
