1930s 3 Drawer Oak Government Issue Desk Green Top

What a cracker, marked with the Government Crown GR to the original brass cup handles and also date stamped 1934 underneath again with the Government Crown GRV. These were well constructed in solid oak, no ply on this old boy, decent sized drawers and altogether a damn good looking and very useful desk. It survives in good order with no wobbles, solid. We love the 3 drawer front look.

Workshop report – The desk survives in good overall order. We have waxed the oak frame and drawer runners. The classic green top survives and is aged and does have marks but nothing fresh. The brass marked cup handles are again nicely tarnished (5 minutes with Brasso would make them shine, if that’s your look), we prefer the original feel. The drawers do have ink marks inside but not new. Overall, it’s in great historic order.

A handsome British vintage desk.
