 A Magnificent and Rare Pair Mid 20th Century Maison Bagues Two Branched Wall lights/Sconces, with scrolling gilt metal foliate form, glass flowers and glass Birds of Paradise.


These are "proper pair" ie a mirrored left and right, which is unusual.  The scale is rare, with exacting craftmanship.  Just Fabulous!


Maison Bagues was founded in Auvergne in 1840, before moving to Paris in 1860.  The lighting company remains one of the "symbols of French savoir-faire and excellence.", being synonymous with their signature collection of finely crafted iron, gilt metal, crystal and glass wall sconces, which are frequently re-imagined using Birds of Paradise, Parrots, Urns, Flowers and Foliage.  The craftmanship is superb, atmospheric and whimisical.  Their items are highly sought after, continuing to delight both Interior Designers and Private Collectors alike, complementing andy design project.
