An attractive reformed gothic chair, after a design by Edward Welby Pugin. C.1880


Constructed from solid oak and attributed to Cox & Sons, having purchased, at the sale of the South-Eastern Works, Ramsgate, a large portion of the stock of furniture similar to that used at the Granville Hotel, designed by E. Welby Pugin.


In addition to the actual stock of ready-made Pugin furniture, Cox & Sons also offered a made-to-order service by the firm with different woods, finishes or upholstery fabrics.


With original traditionally upholstered seat. Structurally sound.
