A wonderful example of religious art taking the form of this French carved Angel wall mount or frieze c.1750


The serene Angel is deeply and deftly carved with realistic feathers, naive features including large set eyes, plump cheeks and extravagant ringlets of hair.


Having much of its original polychrome paint remaining in pleasingly crusty layers.
