Item Details

A delicate Late Imperial Roman Glass bottle in amphora form circa 4th-5th Century AD.


With elegant translucent blue green handles and trails. The bottle has a rounded rim, flaring mouth and a cylindrical neck. Its piriform body tapering down to a rounded base. The two handles are applied in pads to edge of shoulder, drawn up and outwards, then turned down and trailed onto neck.
A horizontal trail wound once around underside of mouth. Distinctive pontil mark to base.


Intact with surface weathering appropriate with age. Presented on a wire stand. Size without stand.
