The fall opens (resting on the partially opened drawer below) to make a sloping writing desk (height 29") with the original red leather work surface with gold tooling (and initialled DH in one corner) and a fitted interior of slim drawers and an open shelf lined in satin birch. With a single drawer above the desk and three larger drawers below. Beautifully figured amboyna wood veneers laid in a symmetrical pattern across the top[ front and sides of the cabinet. With a shaped top, raised mouldings and guilloche carved pilasters to the front corners. Raised on a moulded plinth with a shaped apron at the front and turned bun feet front and rear. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
