Fine quality 19th.c. French Empire style display easel in mahogany c.1860. A frame topped with delightful carved swan's heads and Egyptian style papyrus leaf detail to the sides and a turned pommel at the centre. Supporting a 27" x 3¾" shelf with raised lip at he front and shaped gallery at the rear, height adjustable on a brass ratchet within the turned middle support which rises with the shelf. Splayed feet at the base and hinged rear leg. Some old wear and repairs, otherwise very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
