Item Details

Very handsome large bow front mahogany chest of drawers c.1840. Mahogany veneered 'caddy' top (with no overhanging mouldings) but satinwood strung edges and fine inlaid detail to the front edge. Over two short drawers and three long drawers of graduated height. Beautiful flame mahogany veneers laid in a symmetrical pattern across the drawer fronts which also have satinwood stringing to the edges and retain the original turned knobs with mother of pearl centres. Shaped apron to the front and sides, note the sawtooth inlaid detail, raised on slightly outswept front legs. Mahogany veneered sides, deal drawer linings and backboards. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
