Item Details

Unusually large French Empire style mahogany desk or bureau plat c.1960. Very nearly six feet long. Original teal coloured tooled leather work surface repeated on the 16" slides which drawer out from each end. Over three drawers the middle one shaped to form a shallow arched kneehole (height 23½"). Large Empire style anthemion pattern brass escutcheons to the drawer fronts, and matching mounts to the ends and rear of the desk. Raised on turned column legs with chased brass mounts front and rear, joined with curving stretchers. Some minor surface wear, generally very good colour and condition, restored cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
