17th Century Oak Wainscot Armchair


This lovely petite Wainscot chair has, over time, developed a warm patina which serves to highlight all the early hand carving.


There are hand carved scrolls and shell decoration, an incised and carved lozenge on the inside back surrounded by the most unusual hollowed out bells.


There have been repairs over the years including the introduction of an upholstered seat which we have recently had reupholstered.


An attractive, honest chair.
