A pair of good sized Italian painted tole 'Climbing Nasturtium' sconces, 1940s - naturalistically designed as abundant bunched stems of foliate flowering plants, the whole skilfully modelled with great movement and verve, the life sized flowers with individual stamen details, hand painted in variegated colours throughout, the triple candle holders as nasturtium leaves, with integral hooks verso for hanging. Original paper labels 'made in Italy' present.  In very good vintage condition commensurate with age - very minor paint losses and nothing detracting in our opinion!  Very scarce examples of botanical sconces - sought after in this design and rare in this large size and condition. Stunning on the wall! Can be wired and PAT tested - please enquire.
