Item Details
Intricately carved Jacobean revival oak overmantle constructed in the mid 19th Century. The Latin text along the face of the over mantel states 'Amicis et sibi' which reputedly translates as 'his friends, and for themselves'. The central diamond shaped mirror is bevelled and surrounded by fish or dolphin motifs. A few small pieces are missing, signs of old worm, nail holes and dings present as expected with age.
