Item Details
Very old 13th/14th Century mediaeval encaustic glazed tiles. The set of four forming a circular motif and mounted together in a stained wood frame, measure 27cm x 27cm x 4cm thick and is priced at £850. The sixth one is is an element of a larger motif, measures 10.7cm x 11.1cm x 2.3cm thick, and is priced at £200. These were previoulsy in the collection of the late Professor Charles Reginald Dodwell, Pilkington Professor of History of Art and Director of Whitworth Gallery, Manchester University 1966-89.
