These tiles are from a rarely found series designed by Thomas Allen; the subjects are taken from the novel Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott. Nicely printed in deep brown on ivory body. The left tile shows Ivanhoe and Rowena. The right tile shows Front de Beouf extorting silver from 'Isaac the Jew'. Very rare. Circa 1880.
