Antique Shirvan rugs are among the most highly sought-after Caucasian weavings, renowned for a nuanced, complex style that sets them apart from other rugs from the region. These pieces are extraordinarily finely woven, showcasing richly detailed motifs, borrowed from ancient tribal symbols, with an expressive, playful character and bold natural dyed colours.


This piece, dating to the beginning of the 20th Century, has a charming, earthy colour palette, featuring tones of caramel, ivory and aubergine, in a rare allover design, lending the piece a sense of space and balance, well framed by a wide, decorative border.


In very good condition, still retaining its original fringes.
