An unusual early Victorian carved oak and upholstered child’s high chair, the shaped and pierced cresting rail which follows in the form of a cartouche with needle point upholstery in the center, with curvaceous arms with pierced carving underneath, with a drop in upholstered needle point seat, and a small rod for holding the child in place. The back legs are slightly out swept, with bobbin front legs and a wonderful carved and pierced frieze in the center. The chair is secured to the base by a metal and wooden rod, the base with similar legs and shaped stretcher at the front.
