Circa 1815, exhibition quality patent action, mahogany dining table by William Trotter of Edinburgh. With a solid mahogany top that has reeded fore edges and is rounded at the corners. The apron beneath has quilling on each of the corners, with the extension rail concealed within it. The quilling was a technique frequently used by William Trotter on his more important pieces. There are 4 columns which connect the table top to the trestle base and 4 sturdy, sabre and reeded legs. These finish with a cast brass toe and cast brass castors.
