A fine Victorian period carved walnut letter box with working lock and key. 

The top of the box has a bordered long slot which sits within a finely carved trellis ground, all above a hinged front with a bevelled glass window surrounded by deeply carved foliate detail. The hinges and lock operate with ease. 

A striking piece of exceptional quality.
