A beautifully painted late 18th Century oil on canvas depicting a table with a patterned cloth and ladened with fruit and wine, with a colourful parrot looking on.


The unsigned oil is painted in the manner of Jakob Bogdani (1658-1724), who was a Hungarian artist who studied in Amsterdam. He later moved to England where he married and was a successful artists, painting pictures for Queen Ann and William III.


The painting is in very good condition commensurate with age and no paint losses. There are some old mends to the reverse of the canvas but they are not visible from the front and the canvas is in all ways secure.
