Circa 1780-90s French blockprinted panel originally part of a set of bed hangings.A stunning large scale design of gourds with unfurling decorative leaves interspersed with smaller flowering plants complete with their roots.Quilted and backed in a white handspun linen with a pretty scalloped hem.


In an as found antique and unwashed condition with marks and stains and scattered mildew marks.Both right and left sides have been cut and left raw.There are old historic repairs and darns and patches but the piece still retaining it's beauty.
