Primitive oil painting of girl in a blue dress.  Gilt framed oil painting on canvas of a girl wearing a blue Regency style dress, seated with her pet dog upon her lap. The tradition of giving children coral necklaces was considered a guardian of sorts, protecting them from illnesses.  English naive primitive school, circa 1820- 1840.
