This is a set of four antique dining room chairs. An English, mahogany seat in the Chippendale manner, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800.


Superb Chippendale revival chairs, with appealing upholstery and generous width
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order - one small mark to cushion
Select stocks show fine grain interest and craftsmanship
Deep caramel hues beam beneath a wax polish finish


Elegant foliate carving to the cresting rail, with scrolled leaf detail to the distinctive 'ears'
Striking, pierced ribbon back splat with quarterfoil fretwork in the Chippendale manner
Quality, later upholstery in good order with a drop-in seat cushion at a comfortable height of 46cm (18")
Raised upon reeded square section front legs, gently splayed to the rear and united by double stretcher rails
