This is an antique cleric's swing-out case. A Chinese, hardwood travelling box, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1890.

Charmingly provincial box, presented in original time-worn condition
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
Hardwood stocks present medium caramel hues
Brass strapping to the corners — some minor loss

Carved field panels adorn the case front with traditional Dogs of Fo
Lid opens aiding access to a pair of swing out compartments
