This is an antique dressing table box. An English, rosewood mirrored boudoir vanity case, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.



  • Superb casework with a charming suite of fitted glassware

  • Displays a desirable aged patina throughout

  • Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues

  • Twelve pieces of glassware with a clear, bright appearance

  • Inset working lock to the fascia — key present



  • Attractive case opens to reveal the lined and ebonised interior

  • Original mirror plate to lid reverse with a desirable, light foxing

  • Small clasp pivots the mirror forward to access a concertina document slide

  • Each of the twelve glassware pieces sit neatly within a velvet lining



  • Presents a powder box, comb box, lidded pots and two glass bottles

  • All intact but for one bottle, displaying a crack to the base

  • Several pieces topped with engraved silver plated lids

  • Concealed jewellery tray to the right hand side, held closed with a brass pin
