This is an antique folding campaign table. An Anglo-Indian, teak colonial occasional table, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1880.
Ornately pierced fretwork and an unusual, rectangular folding form
Displays a desirable aged patina - minor losses commensurate with age
Teak stocks present deep chestnut hues and patination
In two pieces for ease of stowage, in the campaign manner
Enthusiastically carved to all surfaces, offering a distinguished appeal
The top a melange of vines with a flowerhead medallion to centre
Each section of the base enhanced with fretwork panels and shaped brackets
Each leg and the table edge decorated with a repeating border
