An English archaeologist, Albert Hartshorne (1839 - 1910) studied at Westminster School before seeking further education in France and Germany. A son of an antiquarian, Hartshorne was twice secretary of the Royal Archaeological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland, editor of the Archaeological Journal and a fellow of the Society of the Antiquaries of London.
