This is an antique wall plate. A Continental, lead display dish honouring St Hubertus, dating to the late Georgian period, circa 1800.
St. Hubertus was an 8th century Christian saint, the patron of hunting and metalworkers in Liege amongst other patronages.
Delightfully cast in relief with copious ornate detail
Displays a desirable aged patina with some historic marks to rim
Cool and tactile lead presents appealing blue-grey hues
Central medallion depicts St. Hubertus hunting within a forest glade
Decorated rim presents repeating hunting scene panels
