This is a tall antique overmantle mirror. A German, giltwood bevelled wall mirror, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.



  • Striking golden tonality with a generously sized mirror plate

  • Displaying a desirable aged patina with original light foxing

  • Striking frame presents fascinating decorative forms in warm gilt hues

  • Quality mirror plate with broad bevel and a clear, bright appearance


 



  • Shield surmount with foliate relief to the crest standing proudly above the plate

  • Upper corners adorned with prominent Eagle heads, the plumage in the form of oak leaves

  • Leaves adorn the lower corners in a graceful scroll form with wreath to centre

  • Dressed to the rear with hanging wire for ease of mounting


This is a superb antique overmantle mirror, graced with a wonderful mirror plate and great colour to the show frame. Delivered ready for the wall.
