A magnificent marquetry inlaid burr walnut bookcase, circa 1870.

A concave fronted top cornice with high quality marquetry inlaid detail over 2 glazed doors enclosing 3 height adjustable shelves.

The base has a marquetry inlaid frieze over 2 inlaid doors, flanked by inlaid sides with decorative ormolu mounts at the top and bottom. The doors enclose a single fixed shelf.

Sitting on a plinth base.

Overall the craftsmanship and quality of inlay is incredible, so is the colour and grain.

This bookcase is in fantastic condition, ready for the home or office.
