An unusual 18th century painted elm settle. The settle retains the original green paint and has a lovely colour and patina. Of traditional slightly curved shape. The enclosed settle similar to that of a "bacon settle", features a narrow cabinet with twin doors above the seat with and arm rest to one end. The sides are constructed from single width planks and the back with narrow planks all in the original green paint. The back of the settle is also painted making it ideal as a room divider.
Condition:
Very Good, Some worn areas to the paint. The twin cupboard doors slightly warped.
