Item Details

A very unusual pair of Regency simulated bamboo side chairs. Retaining the original rush sets and painted decoration the chairs are of unusual style with the back splats being formed by the typical turned faux bamboo spindles but terminating in a Gothic arch top rail. The chairs very much designed and made on the cusp of a change in fashion between the chinoiserie and oriental and the gothic revival.
