https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/matt-crosby-interiorsAntique Georgian oak chest on stand with two drawers of handsome proportions. Circa 1750.
The chest has handmade dovetail construction, with a shaped apron below the two drawers, standing on squat cabriole legs and a pad foot. Made in two sections.
A very useful, attractive piece of furniture.
Condition report:
With the original patina and brass wear. There are some knocks and marks expected with a piece of this age. The beading on the drawers has some damage. The top has some polish loss in one place, you should be able to make this out in the photographs.
There is damage to one hinge, this has had some later screws added. The lid opens and closes well, and is not loose.
The chest lock is now missing, and there are three shoulder pieces missing to the legs.
There has been a professional repair to the inner back leg at some point in its life. The back two legs have probably been pegged at some point.
Additional dimensions information:
The chest interior is 87cm wide x 45cm deep x 30cm high.
