https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/matt-crosby-interiorsA stunning decorative French marble and bronze Guéridon. Circa 1950.
The table is of an elegant and attractive design, with the circular top featuring decorative segmented Brèche D' Alep marble. The table is supported by a bronze frame with a rosette top frieze and ram's head monopodia supports, terminating to splayed hoof feet. The under tier being of faux marble, this is very realistic and well executed.
The table has some slight movement to it when moved, this is due to the design and weight of the marble top.
There are some marks and stains to the marble, with some loss (holes) to the top surface of the Brèche marble. I have tried to show this in photograph number 8. The white marble boarder has a few hairlines and a knock to the edge, photographed. A few of the screws are missing to the inside leg plate (photograph number 16) .
Brèche d’Alep is an expressive marble extracted from French quarries during the 18th Century, and used by many royal residences throughout France.
Additional dimensions information:
From corner to corner of the rams heads it is 93cm.
