A superb pair of English 19th century, Arts & Crafts antique Sussex armchairs, a design by Ford Maddox Brown. They are both in excellent, strong condition and feature ring turned decorations to the spindles and the Maddox Brown cross design to the back rests. Both Sussex chairs have the traditional, original rushed seats that are in super condition and they stand on telescopic style front legs. A lovely pair that are still in the original finish, they date to around 1870. The seats are 42cm high.
