Superb Large Scale English 19th Century Antique Tavern Sign


This is a very original large English antique tavern sign that is hand carved from a single piece of a wide, pine board. The ornate carved Crow’s Nest lettering is finished in gilt. Interesting provenance, as it was originally the original tavern sign above a Newcastle inn. In very good condition, designed to be mounted in one continuous length, but could be displayed in two sections. English and dating to around 1850. A great present for a sailing enthusiast.
