This magnificent piece conjures instant echoes of Picasso's rose period. With romantic hues of red and pink, the artist paints these two seated female figures - one nude and one clothed - in his signature style, characterised by emotion, expressive brushwork and sinuous lines, reminiscent of the work of Henri Matisse.

Born in 1939, Antoni Munill was a Catalan artist who painted with a wealth of passion and emotion. Celebrated for his evocative figure paintings and experimental interiors and landscapes, Munill was driven by his powerful Catalan spirit. The artist painted with a highly expressive style; a wonderful blend of influences from the French impressionists to Picasso and Matisse.
