Large and wide antique French archtop mirror, circa 1880, with a wide, partly outcurving, gilt frame etched with a partly geometric design incorporating fanned leaves (or possibly lotus flowers), a beaded sight edge and topped with a fanned and flowing cartouche. Where this mirror has been dusted for over 100 years, the gilding has thinned a little revealing the terracotta bole beneath the giving the mirror frame a warm glow. The original glass is in very good condition with just a little, very light, age and gives an excellent reflection. This mirror would make a very handsome, classic, overmantel.
