Item Details

Late 19th century French oval mirror with layered frame, the central section of which is outcurving and decorated with an acanthus leaf design. Each side of this section are incurving gilt bands, the inner one of which is burnished, and a row of beading completes the inside edge with a raised gilt rim completing the outer edge. The mirror is topped with a decorative cartouche of leaves and flowers either side of a central burnished oval and the base has a smaller pierced and scrolling acanthus leaf decoration. The original mirror glass is bevelled and is in very good condition, giving an excellent reflection.
