Item Details

A once in every 20 years find! Huge and special, early 19th century, slightly cushioned Venetian mirror with layered mercury glass frame decorated with delicate etching in the central section. The outer frame section has alternating long and short scallop cut edges and the inner section has small scallop cuts. The frame is held in place at each corner with large glass leaves which are, in turn, secured with little diamond cut glass topped screws. The bevelled, central mercury mirror plate has some very consistant age throughout in the form of gentle mottling. Impossible to photograph well, this mirror will be displayed on our stand at the Battersea Decorative Antiques Fair from Tuesday 1 - Sunday 6 October.
