Item Details

Rare pair of 19th century French mirrors, circa 1870, with outcurving, undulating, watergilt frames. Where these mirrors have been cleaned over the years, the gilding has thinned, mainly around the glass and along the bottom edges, revealing hints of the terracotta bole and cream gesso beneath. The gilding wraps around the outside edges of the long sides, so these mirrors look just as smart from the side as they do from the front.
