Item Details

A mid 19th century gilded wall mirror. The frame to this charismatic mirror is decorated in the egg and dart style. The original gilded surface has faded and evenly worn over the past century and more revealing rich basecoat hues of terracotta creating a mixture of warm earthy tones. A fine intact row of gilded gesso beads sit neatly against the original mirror plate. Original pine backboards. Atmospheric gilded wall mirror. France circa 1880.
