Item Details

A deliciously decorative still life oil on canvas. A harvest basket crammed with peaches, pears, cherries, apples and grapes together with a single Peony just peeping through, all set against a dark atmospheric background with swirling grapevines. The colours have mellowed and faded a little over the past century together with one or two obligatory canvas patches to the reverse of the painting but only ever enhancing its charm, history and mystique. Large still life oil on canvas circa 1880.
