Item Details

A late 19th century carved wood horse in original paint.   The surface paint has worn thin and faded over the past century revealing the seasoned pine body beneath creating a wonderfully atmospheric textured appearance. The horse is raised upon a steel support to the front poised to gallop with the hind quarters standing on the  original faded blue grey platform. A hugely decorative tactile wooden horse. France circa 1890.
